Studying Speech Communication Science at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Karoline Schürer examined in her Masterthesis (2017) Needs and Conditions of Speech in feature films. While doing interviews with Production Sound Mixers and Dialogue Editors she became more and more enthusiastic about the question of how actors and actresses speak in front of the film camera.
Through practical training since 2017 she becamen more experienced as a professional sound assistant for film productions.
Since 2019 Karoline Schürer has been working passionately as second boom-operator focussing on a clear and natural location sound in various film productions. Her work contributes to technical support of actors and actresses in order to catch their individual interpretation of characters and emotions.
Karoline Schürer lives in Berlin and teaches Voice, Phonetics and the Art of Speaking to acting students at Film University Babelsberg and at Academy of Performing Arts in Ludwigsburg.
