Elena Gurvich Titova is a freelance sound designer and sound editor with over 15 years of experience in feature films, documentaries, and animation.
Initially studying violin, Elena became interested in film sound after participating in a music recording session. This led her to a re-recording studio, where she became fascinated with sound mixing. Since graduating from the “Sound Engineering of Audiovisual Arts” program at VGIK (the All-Russian State University of Cinematography) in 2008, she has worked on many films shown at festivals like Cannes and Berlin. She also enjoys teaching: for nearly 10 years, she taught “Sound Editing Techniques” at VGIK and authored a book on the subject.
Elena’s passion is editing backgrounds. She loves the creative process of layering sound, seeing it as a storytelling tool to enhance the audience’s experience.
She values the opportunity to continually grow in her work, exploring new techniques, fresh perspectives, and connecting with unique people.
